This isn't what is happening in Tara's town, but I just wanted to say...."A fed bear is a dead bear".
I wanted to chime in on the bears thread and give my public service message of "'Don't Feed the Bears".
When people see bears and think "Oh, how cute, I'll feed him", this is a
bad idea. The bears lose their fear of humans and then start coming around residential areas etc. Once this happens, the bear has to be destroyed, because the bear is not afraid of humans anymore and could lumber into residential areas looking for food or handouts and in the process, could potentially maul some little kid or something.
I think it is horrible that a wild animal (to be admired from afar, of course) would have to be senselessly destroyed (when the whole situation could have been prevented entirely) so please don't feed the bears!
