At my cousin's church I have heard them say "Give faithfully and the Lord will provide the rest". I have complete faith in God, as well as complete faith that I am already overdrawn in my checking account.

I agree. I recently visted a church and they asked if there was anyone who could give $100, please stand up. When only like 3 people stood up they said "How many can give $20?" then a few more people stood up? The preacher then asked this again for a $10 offering. After that he said, if you could not give $10 today, you can come to tomorrow's service and give the $10. I was so heated. Now, I am a college student and only had $2 in my purse so I gave just that $2. My friend and I were so heated that we left after the offering. To make it even worse, the deacons looked down at us when we put our money in the plate!
