The scary thing (being serious for a moment here), is that at one time Idaho had a lower drinking age than Washington, so during Dad's Weekend at WSU, the Dad's would come down, take their sons over the state line to Idaho, drink with them in the bars or bar (no idea how many there are or were in Moscow) or buy alchohol for them, and drive back. How that didn't wipe out half the male population at WSU is beyond me.
Two of my friends had fathers who went to WSU at the time. The police used to line the Moscow-Pullman highway with sandbags to keep people on the road. These two guys once tried to "tame the sandbags" by driving on them. They were pulled over, and forced to walk home more times they could count. I have heard there used to be cars all along the road Friday and Saturday nights from kids who got pulled over and just walked back home.

Aw, the good ol days.
