My chapter was an absorption of a local sorority. We went into slating/elections at the end of the fall semester of my sophomore year knowing that it was likely, but not yet firmly decided, that we would become a colony of AEPhi in the spring. As it happened, every Sigma Iota Phi office had a corresponding AEPhi office, so the transition was smooth. (Except that I was the ritualist who didn't know the ritual.
We brought in a couple of additional new members before we ourselves were initiated, so I was responsible for arranging their new member ceremonies. The national office took care of the arrangements for our initiation.)
