I know this is about shopping, but this is a peeve from a former food service person (Subway). One day a couple brought in their child and LET THE CHILD STAND ON THE COUNTER.
You know, the counter we serve the FOOD on?? To keep from offending them by saying "get your rug rat's gross dirty feet off our counter" I said "oh please don't let him stand there, he could fall and hurt himself." The parents proceeded to SIT the child (in diaper only) on the counter.
Oh, thank you, that's much better. You can bet that counter got an extra cleaning before they were even out the door. GROSS!!!!
