Norton actually is pretty bad. Along with McAfee. Lots of bloatware. Which is never good.

The best (as in, my computer geek/technical support boyfriend who write programs for fun and the entire programming community he hangs with uses this) anti-virus software is Microsoft Security Essentials (as has been mentioned). It's free, stays out of your way, and is just awesome. :]
