Translation: The guy maybe does like you, but he 1) either has no clout in the fraternity or 2) is too much of a pussy to push for a guy who's not like the other guys to become a member. Either way, he figures "well, some guys will quit and some will graduate, and we might need men in the spring." Either way, he'll be pushing you down people's throats who probably don't want you there.
I personally wouldn't even bother with the dinner, but it's your call.
ETA: I just reread...you have bids from other fraternities? Take one of them. Quit bothering with these weenies. You will never feel comfortable or be truly welcomed. I'm sorry if it really is a racial thing, but better for you to know now rather than to find out later that they just took you to have a token Asian and make themselves "diverse."
