I can see both points. I would think it would be tough since I guess I tend to remember people I meet initially by identifying physical characteristics (Oh, that's the red head who likes to wear those gigantic ear rings, etc.). It hasn't seemed to be a problem for daughter. A night at a time - she can remember who she spoke to and what she thought. By next week, she won't have a clue who she talked to unless their personality really stood out to her (good or bad) or she spoke to them more than once. She'd only remember clothing if it was at the extreme ends of good and bad.
I will say that when she went through rush - she made sure there was some accessory she added to that t-shirt that would stand out (in a good way). Cute earrings, bracelet, sandals type of thing.
