My school has always done Pref on Sunday morning and Bid Night on Sunday night.
Yes, it's a VERY long day but the adrenaline of it all keeps you going. There is some downtime between Pref and Bid Night, though. Parties are over by like 2:00 and actual Bid Night doesn't start until like 8:00. I remember trying to nap or do homework during that time but not being able to because OMG BBQWTF WE ARE TOO EXCITED.
