Sigma Delta Tau and Alpha Chi Omega did rush informally last spring.
Greek life has a long history at SC. Alpha Chi Omega was installed well over 100 years ago. Many sorority traditions have been followed for decades such as Presents. The Pansy Breakfast originated there in 1927 and was featured in Life magazine. In days gone by Greek women announced their engagements by stepping through the pansy ring. There were full page features in the Los Angeles Times with photos of women and their sorority affiliation. Guests at the breakfasts were fashionably dressed in the latest ensembles of the time with hats, gloves, suits or dresses.
In the above photo Adrienne Atwood steps through the Pansy Ring in a wedding gown to conclude the Pansy Breakfast in 1957.
