I always have wondered what would have happened if I went to a school with national sororities instead of locals (I do remember someone at my college telling me that the school had local Greek organizations when I visited, but I didn't understand what that meant when I was 17 & making my college decision). Since then, a lot of people question why I would join a local organization. It also hurt me at several places I interviewed at grad schools because they believed there was no way I could work with nation organizations (luckily, where I ended-up, they didn't have an issue with my affiliation).
But even during undergrad, I had a lot of friends in the other sororities and many people where surprised when they found out what sorority I was in. I never really connected with my pledge class (but I did get alone with most of the girls in the pledge class above mine). However, I love my family line and we're really close. Also my sorority's creed describes exactly who I am and what I've always believed in.
I think for where I was, I made the best decision. However, looking back, I should have given other groups more of a chance because each of the groups have really great girls in them and I would have been lucky to be a member of any of them. But I still think I would have pledged the group that I did.
