I was going to respond to it?
I think some of us are confusing prejudice and preference to be the same thing.
Here are the definitions of the two (courtesy of The American Heritage Dictionary):
prejudice: an adverse judgement or opinion formed beforehand without knowledge of the facts.
preference: the excercise of choice.
So how can one really discern the difference between someone being prejudice or someone having a PREFERENCE?
For example, I will only let another African American beautician relax and style my hair because I feel that he/she will understand my needs, frustrations, and questions that I have because they have been through the same thing. I have never let a non-african american style it nor will I ever.
Is this prejudice or preference?
