ummm, thats about what I was saying....being an inter/national group We couldnt do the show even if we had wanted too. We's have lost our charter. So in essence, even if we were dilluded enough to think it was a good idea, WE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO DO IT. Our stuff wouldda been shut down. I am not making a local vs national argument here. that argument has been beat to death elsewhere on this site for at least the TWO YEARS I have been a registered poster. I was just saying that when you are only accountable to the school and yourselvs, there arent as many people who can raise objections and stop your ass from doing something. For us, wed have to get it cleared by about 50 people at our inter/national HQ and then the governing board woul dhave to make a decision on it. If ya dont believe me, I'd gladly drop our Director of Communications a note about it and ask him if we could do it and see what he'd say. I'd bet you your next paycheck what his answer would be.
My main point of my ORIGINAL post was that the editorial author (which, understanding that it was an editorial, and his opinion, which editorials are..) assumed that we'd be pissy about it because we werent chosen. Which to me is a complete fu*king joke. He completely dismissed our concens that this COULD BE another nail in the coffin of public relations, that WE not just the gals at UC Davis have to deal with.
I am not judjing the show yet. I am judging the fu*king fool editorial author who believes this whole uproar is about us not getting chosen. Gimme a break.
