I persevered and eventually earned my Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. However, by the time I became a college sophomore and was eligible to pursue membership in an NPHC organization, I was already 27 years old and married. My priorities at the time were on my new marriage and future family, and it didn't help that the school I attended was literally in the middle of nowhere and didn't have any NPHC organizations.

I joined GreekChat to learn about greek life as part of my investigation into whether or not joining a sorority is something that I should pursue at my age. I've pretty much accomplished everything I ever set out to do - except sorority membership. Life happens, and you do what you need to do at the time, and I did. However, now I'm at a point in my life where I think it's the right time for me to revisit sorority membership and investigate my options.

NPHC sororities are really all I have any idea about, but I'm not opposed to joining a non-NPHC sorority or a community sorority. I've even thought about starting one for "late comers" like myself, but I'd much rather join an existing organization.

Besides my interest in greek life, I am a photography buff. You smart people have no doubt figured that out by now being that my username is a dead giveaway. I'm looking forward to having a positive experience on GreekChat, and I hope to never cut any of you (especially the longtime members) the wrong way. I've seen how you deal with people who go wrong, and I don't want that to be me.

My best to all.

Welcome to greekchat! Age is not the big deal you're thinking it is regarding alumnae/graduate membership in NPHC orgs. I've seen women in their 50's and 60's become members at this level. If you are willing to work and have talents and skills to offer, go for it. It's not uncommon at all.
