It is also a pretty accurate stereotype for the foothills (Morrison, Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey). Not socks and sandals as much as just practical (i.e. ugly) shoes of all varieties. Of course three feet of snow will do that to a girl. There's nothing like wearing your sandals out on a warm morning in June only to have it snow in the afternoon. Colorado is such a beautiful place that maybe no one notices shoes as much here!
