Now when our soror died in a car crash, most of you posters who are ranting about your org did not even have the decency to drop by and leave a post of sympathy. Keep your AKA/DST tirades between you and the people who you feel insulted your org. It is called a PM.
All of our orgs have done magnificent things. This thread is about Sigma Gamma Rho. Show some maturity. If I responded to every idiot who misspoke about my org, I would spend months on some of these forums. (Do the names ENDROAD, who would just die before she became a Sigma and AKATUDE, who can't help it if post 1913 orgs are the dreck of creation, ring a bell?)
Really,
TRSimon

I also had to keep in mind that when he pledged there were no SGRhos on his yard. By the same token most people grow up with the AKA vs.Delta "syndrome" and its not because they are doing more work but its because of their loving rivalry.....I want people to know our organization because of their deeds and not because of stereotypes.

Let me just state, that my sorority has reached its elite status do to the great service that we have provided to this nation since our founding on January 13, 1913. We put ourselves on the map, beginning with our participation in the Womans' Suffrage March in March of 1913. And up till the present day we continue to serve our community through our five point programmatic thrust. The leaders that our sorority has produced and the great deeds that we have done speaks for itself. It has nothing to do with the "rivalry" between us and the ladies of AKA. My sorority and her accomplishments stand alone. Our history is a part of African-American history as well as American history.
But at least we can say most of our members join to work for the sorority, not to decorate the world with their pink, green, crimson, and creme colors.

First, why the need for the insult? Are you a part of our organizations ? I think not. So how can you even make such a statement? As stated by my Soror Virtual Violet, we all have our members who join and don't do the work but such a comment in unvalidated as well as uncalled for. You are not qualified to speak on behalf or about Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. so please refrain from making such generalizations. Just as you are so confident that most of your sorority members joined to work, I am as equally sure that most my Sorors joined for the work. WHY - because of the great legacy that our sorority has built/continues to build in our communities.
P.S. You all joined to work in the community, not for popularity or notariaty, correct? If so, why worry about those who do not know you. The ones that do know you (i.e. the people you have helped in your service endeavors) are the only ones that matter.
