We never had a Borders here, but the Walden Books closed in the mall months ago, and a new store is already in its space. I was not sad to see Walden shut down. The store was always kept about ten degrees warmer than the rest of the mall & they rarely had what I was looking for. I've rarely had a good shopping experience in a Walden Books.

We still have two large bookstores open--Joseph Beth & Barnes & Noble, plus a couple of Christian bookstores and several very good used book stores.

I really dont shop for actual books that much anymore as I have a Kindle now. In an attempt to further eliminate clutter from my house and make dusting easier, I get what I can on my Kindle and can get what I purchase in about 30 seconds.
