I think this is more about a public portrayal of a Hindu God than any sort of neo-nazi/aryan thing. We don't want these pure white Idaho Christian children turning Hindu or anything.

Criticism of art is part of art. Period. I am a huge fan of public art, as well, but a basic tenet of art is that just because you can make it does not mean it is art...no matter what your mother told you as she put your kindergarten drawings on the fridge.
