My worst was probably weeks of copycatting. In 5th grade, I was an avid fan of Days of Our Lives. My favorite character was the conniving Sami (Alison Sweeney). I flipped all of her tricks to get Austin to fall in love with her into 5th grade versions and try them out on the object of my affections. Example: She made Austin a special dinner of all his favorite foods-->I bring an extra PB&J in my lunch. I tried so hard to trap that boy: wore my "picture day" dress on a regular day, combed my hair over one eye and practiced me "come hither" look, wore my mom's perfume, etc. Anything Sami tried, I did some variation. But alas, my love went unrequited.
I actually had a FB chat with him yesterday. He's married and living in Oregon. He's getting an MA in the same field I got mine so we caught up a bit. I don't think he ever knew how much I liked him...and he never will....*stares wistfully into the distance*
