Is there a way I can defer payments for the rest of the initiation cost or any other way they can work with you until you have sufficient funds for the Fraternity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Consider selling things at pawn shops and places like Plato's Closet. The key is to see how you can (legally and with no regrets) make that $500.

Some colleges/universities do quick loans (not associated with financial aid) for things like this. ETA: These tend to be called "emergency loans."

Good luck to you. You seem like a nice young man, Wise.
