I have an excellent GPA, stellar resume, and know how to put together a great outfit; honestly, I feel I'd be a perfect candidate for sorority life.

However, I'm starting to get a little concerned about it. Is it going to be weird that I'm rushing as a sophomore? I actually went through a few days of recruitment last year and got invited back to all my favorite houses, but felt so overwhelmed (my family are anti-Greeks and I had NO idea what to expect) that I left.

A lot of my Greek friends told me that it's actually easier for sophs to rush at A&M because of new rules that require the houses to choose X number of new sophomore pledges. I'm just kind of worried that since I didn't pledge with girls "my age", I'll be left out.

During my freshman year I had some unfortunate troubles with my friends, and I REALLY want to go Greek to find a group of sisters to last a lifetime instead of petty party friends. I am so excited for the sorority experience and can't wait to craft decorations for my apartment and gifts for my future big if I do pledge, but I'm worried that as the "awkward sophomore" I won't make friends.

Do y'all think sophomore rushing is weird? I'd love to hear your opinion -- especially from fellow ags!
I'm not sure that the whole "houses are required to choose x number of sophs" thing is true. Yes, A&M may have an upperclassman quota which gives chapters the OPPORTUNITY to take on upperclassmen, but they certainly are not obligated to do so. I've never heard of a school requiring any chapter to use it.

Any A&Mers can correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt that I am.
