We had the most fantastic porch ever with a fantastic swing. It was not uncommon to find us out there from 2pm to 2am people watching and swinging (preemtive twss, k_s).
My boyfriend in college also had a house with a porch, so if we needed a change of scenery, we'd go there. Or if we needed a drink.
