Do y'all remember back in the day, when Rob Lowe made the tape of him and the underage girls? Where was all the hype when that was going on? I'm not saying R. Kelly shouldn't be punished (if and when he's found guilty) but, it just doesn't seem right when he's suffering from the backlash of his actions and nothing (presumably) was done to Rob Lowe. In fact, he still has a career after all of this. It may not be what it was but, he's still getting paid! I apologize for ranting but, I had to ask.
(I'm not an R. Kelly fan, nor have I ever been. I won't be listening.)

I was reading an email comparing the two scandals, R. Kelly and Rob Lowe. Apparently, Rob Lowe didn't know that the girl he was having sex with on tape was sixteen. She told him that she was twenty one. I don't know how true his excuse is but I can say that his career did suffer. He just started working again a few years ago and this scandal happened in the late 80s / early 90s.
And, there are a few differences that have had an impact. Rob Lowe never denied that he was the man on the tape. He said that he didn't know. If R. Kelly had done the same, the backlash might not have been as bad. Also, prior to his scandal, Rob Lowe never had a reputation for liking young girls. R. Kelly's reputation precedes him and was common knowledge
before this tape became public.

That's exactly the attitude that I was talking about!!!
