Manders-

Here is the problem with "learning" about other chapters. These are totally hypothetical situations:

Let's say the Tri-Delts cut me first night. I wasn't good enough for them. Now I can't stand them but I love my own organization. Am I going to speak well about them even if they have a good reputation on campus? No, my opinions would clearly be biased.

Here's another scenario:
I like to stay in and only go out with a small group of friends. None of that big partying scene. The Kappas are known for their wild parties. I resent that they don't study enough, or whatever. So if someone asks for my opinion, it will be, sight unseen to my situation, "the kappas are b*tches who think they are the only ones who matter. they are stuck up and all they care about is drinking"

on the other hand, they can go around callng my sorority a bunch of losers who don't have any fun because we don't have the SAME type of fun as they do.

but no one on this board will know the background info.

My whole point is that someone in ABC will have a different opinion of someone in DEF sorority on their campus. These ladies clearly joined their respective orgs because they felt they were the best for them. We cannot get unbiased opinions and shouldn't be sharing biased opinions with potential rushees, who are the ones who REALLY care.

only ask an opinion on a sorority/fraternity from an actual member of that organization. if not, it's all hearsay.

Peace.
