I agree with my sister Tracy on this. Having a Delta Zeta alumna as the all Greek advisor on your campus is nice for a new colony, but that doesn't mean that the advisor has "pull" with Headquarters, or that the girls in the colony didn't work hard to get where they are.

There is definitely a strict process that every potential chapter must go through in order to become a DZ colony. Not every step is made public, so although it may seem as if there was little preparation to those who were not directly participating in the colonization process, that doesn't mean that there was no work going on.

At any rate, the introduction of a new colony to a campus should be considered a positive event for Greek Life. It means that Greek membership is growing at the school, and that is most definitely a good thing. I would hope that you would welcome the new DZ girls on your campus as your Greek sisters and help them to get established. Good PR between chapters is as vital to Greek Life as good PR between Greeks and non-Greeks.
