Quiet is kept...
I know of many Sorors who share their probate date rather than their initiation date, as does my chapter, because we're not really off-line until then. Some chapters find that XX days isn't enough time to effectively set the foundation through which a committed Delta can be born into the Sorority. We "weren't done" as of the initiation date, so we claim our probate date/time as the moment of true birth and recognition into the sisterhood. My line celebrates our anniversaries on that date. I acknowledge that it's not "appropriate", but that's the date we felt we were made.

QUESTION: To all of my SORORS, what date have you shared with us -- the date of your initiation or the date of your probate show? Which date is on your jacket? shirt? etc? When people ask you what day you BECAME a Delta, what date do you share? What date is on your MEMBERSHIP certificate?
The ceremony is private but no one has asked you to share the details of that ceremony, just the day you were born into Delta.
When you have to come back and explain yourself more than once, you cause (unnecessary) suspicion. if you had doubts, all you had to do was ASK BEFORE you posted.
