I like his music, always have, and I'll continue to listen. Music is an abstract art form, and even though he 'made' it, it's not all his. I hope I'm making sense. I can't really explain what I mean right now. But if you already have the CD, you've already 'supported' him. He doesn't (clearly and evidently, lol) need our MORAL support. Playing his songs on the radio, to me, isn't holding a 'I don't care what he did' vigil. Music is eternal. Everyone in the entire nation could burn all the the CD's that they have by him. But you can't burn your memory. The words are etched, as are the phrases. Bump and grind? That's his, he coined that, and if he didn't, he shole made it famous. The man is talented, period. Yes, he may have done wrong, but he's talented nonetheless, and that proof of his talent will forever live on. And remember, if you don't listen to his music, you also don't listen to songs that he wrote, and there are a lot of those.
This is the first time I can remember this much controversy behind a celebrity's wrong doing. Is it because we all "KNOW" he's guilty? I mean, Tupac went to jail for what, "rapin" some chick? Who stopped listening to his music? Lisa Lopes (RIP) was an Arsonist (is that a word?). No one stopped listening to her. Snoop was on trial for MURDER. He has a commercial, is in movies, and still making music. People think Michael Jackson is a pedophile. No one stopped playin his stuff on the radio (but he IS the man, lol) And I wonder if it will make any difference if he's (Robert) found innocent. Didn't make a difference for OJ, lol.
And what trips me out, is these other artists who are APPALLED. Jay-Z took the pictures off the cover of the album????? Lil Kim is embarrassed???
Her azz can run around half naked and say, "So whaaaat take it in the buuuutt," but now she embarrassed? Now, this to me, is also insane. Jay-Z has rapped about sellin crack. Now, he done assisted in messin up some CHILD'S mama, but he now doesn't want to be associated with a pedophile??? Different crime, but still affecting a child. WTF?
Now, another question would be... if he EVER made any MORE music, would people buy it?
