I'm hoping/guessing that most of the people who say things like that are trying to figure out:
1) If they would even like a Greek system that is that competive/of that size
2) If they'll have to jump in and take the plunge first semester, even if they might not be ready emotionally or financially
3) Whether to even bother with the school (applying does cost money)
4) Both schools are even, this just might be the deciding factor.
And there ARE schools that no, if you have an unsuccessful rush, you probably won't be happy.
