Founding years on a shirt?

OK so today as I walked around campus in my new intramural jersey I made a slight observation. Our jerseys say "kickin it since 1851," making this like the 4th shirt I have with 1851 on it. Now yes I know we are very very very proud of being first and what not but I got to thinking I have never seen another sorority shirt with a founding year on a shirt on campus. I've also seen the 1851 shirts with other ADPi chapters, so I know we aren't the only ones who do it. But I see them on guys shirts all the time wether it is KA, Pike, Sigma Chi, Sig Ep, lambda Chi, etc and it doesn't have naything to do with who was founded first. SO I guess my question is it just a campus thing that no other sorority cares to put their founding year on tshirts or is it pretty normal for other groups to "brag on their founding year." Just curious and please feel free to "brag on your year" and describe the tshirt.
