All that I can say is that everything that one does in the dark will surely come to the light of day! R. just had too much that said: "guilty"...the tape, the settled lawsuits, the continuous allegations. His story seems to be one of contradictions...something that Steeltrap and others have pointed out. He was a musical genius, but had a twisted view of intimacy. I liken R. to a modern day Mozart...because Mozart, too, was associated with sexually exploiting minors (boys).

Now as far as his continuing to lean toward Christianity in all of this....he's being talking about it for a long time. On the album R. Kelly he had a song called "Trade in my Life".

In that song, he spoke of how there are so many pressures and that eventually, that he wanted to trade in his life for the Lord.

He continued to say that at various times....remember he had talks with Kirk Franklin...and at one point it was said that he was only going to record Gospel CDs. But it seemed as if he could never let go of his lifestyle, nor the "loot" associated with it. He wouldn't sell out for the cause of Jesus Christ. It seemed as if he were continually torn...and I'm sure in retrospect, he wishes that he took his own advice...and traded in his life.

I think that perhaps his initial desire to move toward gospel and Christianity may have come up as a result of his first set of charges. And, his return may be much of the same. Its always interesting that people run throughout life without making a heavenly connection..but as soon as things get a bit "interesting"...they begin to come back to the church. Why not do that sooner than soon?
