same question to you: how are mothers and wives of famous people counted as famous?
I get that the Kent shootings were a big deal but, if we're gonna' go that far-why not make the sorority women who were affected by the Virginia Tech shootings "famous" members, too? It seems odd to me. The Iraq war is also a big deal but, I don't know if my sorority should consider me a "famous" alumna because I was affected by it.

As far as mothers, wives, daughters, etc-you need to check some of the names of people that are considered "famous" because of who they are married to, mothers of, etc. Many of these organizations say, "So-and-So, famous little sister of So-and-So" or "So-and-So, wife of Dr. Seuss" or whoever. If those organizations can do the same thing, I see nothing wrong with saying Debbie Phelps, mother of an Olympic swimmer and an AUTHOR, is famous.
