I don't really think the question is did she deserve (though I'd say she did). She outwitted them. If they're stupid enough or lazy enough to have her go off by herself to get food for everybody, then they really can't complain if she used the opportunity to keep some for herself. (Yeah, I know they would complain, but they're not justified in complaining.)
As for the risk, it was risky. I had to assume she knew how long they would expect her to be gone (and that they never came looking for her, or much less came to help), and she knew that she could start a fire, cook a fish and extinguish the fire before anyone wondered where she was. She also must have felt secure that she could build a fire that wouldn't attract attention. I thought it was a great move, and I assume at this point no one knew until they saw it on TV. No one caught her, and they've moved to the other campsite, so how would they know unless she 'fessed up? I don't see that happening.
As for the alliance(s), I really think it's another "onion alliance," with Brenda, Sash and NaOnka at the center and everyone else but Benry, Marty and maybe Dan layered on closer to or further from the center. The outer layers don't seem to be catching on to that, though.
