Bumping because I have always loved this thread & also because I thought it would be interesting from a new member period. I feel like right now it would be easy to get caught up in my own sorority (which I'm loving so much already!!) but one of my favorite ideas of sororities is Panhellenic spirit. I have always had an interest in learning about all of the sororities. GC has been a huge help in that.
Alpha Chi Omega: The lyre is so beautiful. I really like the AXO women at my school. I worked with one freshman year and she is one of the sweetest girls I have met at Penn State. I love the way the name sounds too. "Real Strong Women" I think that this is a "brand" as they call it. It is something I feel like we all strive for. I also found it interesting that they have a Patron Goddess, Hera, Goddess of women and marriage. Also one of the best national websites.
Alpha Delta Pi: My best friend from PSU is an ADPi new member. I am so happy for her and she really loves her ADPi sisters. I have always thought of ADPi as a strong organization. I also have a strong love for lions

Also like the diamond hand sign & "We live for each other" - that's what friendship & sisterhood are all about.
Alpha Epsilon Phi: Going into this all I knew about AEPhi is green is a color & their mascot is a giraffe (how cool!). I love their open motto "Many hearts, one purpose" - it reminds me of the PSU Dance MaraTHON. I'd like to meet someone in this sorority, because it is one of the few NPCs that I have never met any members of
Alpha Gamma Delta: I have a great love for AGD. One of my very best friends from high school is an AGD for Gannon. It was a great decision for her to go through recruitment. It has really turned around her college experience. I am constantly on the lookout for red, buff & green, and squirrels! I love the rose they use in their logos/stationary things. I also love their vision, "Inspire the woman, Impact the world."
Alpha Omicron Pi: My favorite thing about this is that you don't have a crest/shield because those are not typically Greek. I think it is very cool to stick to the traditionally Greek heritage. I find the tradition of draping a piece of black ribbon over the badge in the event of a death of an Executive Board member, past National President or chapter member very nice. I like that there is a way to show mourning tied to the sorority. I also really love red.
Alpha Phi: A few years ago, I was surprised to learn that it was pronounced Alpha "Fee" and not Alpha "Fie." I think I read somewhere once that this is because of proper grammar (?) since Alpha ends in a vowel, you use the "ee" sound instead of "i" (similar to Alpha Xi Delta?) Ivy is very pretty, I love the new member badge.
Alpha Sigma Alpha: Again, I love red. Two girls in my "pride" (incoming freshman students group) went ASA. Some girls in my pride this summer (when I was a leader) also went ASA. I like the way the letters look together. Some ASAs from Penn State are pictured on the national website! So exciting! I also like "Aspire, seek, attain" motto
Alpha Sigma Tau: Two girls from high school are ASTs at different schools. LOVE anchors. I like that certain styles of badges are worn by people in different levels of the organization, for example, the ruby badge is worn by national staff members & the diamond badge is only worn by the National President/Past National Presidents.
Alpha Xi Delta: Love the gold & double blue color combo! I also like the way the jeweled badges look. Autism speaks is such a great philanthropy.
Chi Omega: I also love the way these letters look together. One of my favorites as far as letter combos go. Every time I see something owl related, I always thing of Chi O. Make-A-Wish is another philanthropy I feel a strong connection to. I also think of Chi Omega as a very strong national organization. I like the cardinal & straw color combo.
Delta Delta Delta: Another favorite letter "combo" I love how strong of an organization TriDelta is. I would love to see them return to Penn State in the future. Their badge is also one of my favorites!
Delta Gamma: DG is one of my favorites overall. I love the "Do Good" motto and can relate to the "Service for Sight" philanthropy. Every DG I've met at Penn State is fantastic. I really love the anchor, too. My friend who is a DG has an anchor necklace which I have always admired.
Delta Phi Epsilon: This is another chapter I have never met a member of! I really knew nothing about them until this except for the unicorn, & purple and that they have always struck me as being a very diverse group of women. The founding principals of "justice, sisterhood & love" are great and really fitting since they were founded at a law school!
Delta Zeta: Love pink & green. One of my best friends from HS joined "DeeZee" Turtles are cute too. They're colors & symbols are so girly! They also have a very well organized website.
Gamma Phi Beta: The ladies I know/met at PSU of Gamma Phi are so interesting! I like the crescent moon & that it has to be waxing crescent instead of waning (ASTRO 001 - actually learned something about moons!) I never knew that it stands for the growth of the sorority & it's individual members.
Kappa Alpha Theta: Theta is another organization that I view as being very strong. I like their letters & the "Think/Thought Theta" thing that has been circling through recruitment shirts. I am also VERY partial to black & gold (hometown semi-near Pittsburgh)
Kappa Delta: Love KD. I really like them at our school because they are so outgoing. I also love their close ties during founding to TriSigma

The founders were roommates! KD was also supposed to be Sigma Sigma, I believe until TriSigma announced it's name, etc.
Kappa Kappa Gamma: Have always loved the key. When I think sorority woman, I think Kappa as a great example of this. It always reminds me of that sophisticated and polite lady. I only personally know one Kappa, but she is very very nice.
Phi Mu: A lot of Phi Mus at PSU are in a lot of my classes. I have learned the most about them through GC, but I really think they are a great organization. They seem very southern to me as a whole. I am a HUGE fan of the Beta Mu (PSU) chapters philanthropy efforts! They are one of the top fundraising chapters for the Children's Miracle Network. They hold a See-Saw-Thon during Blue & White weekend that I think is really cool.
Phi Sigma Sigma: One of my boyfriends close friends growing up is a Phi Sigma Sigma. I think the badge is so interesting with the sphinx.
Pi Beta Phi: I always liked Pi Phi. They seem like such classy ladies. I like the wine & blue color combo. I never knew that the angel was an unofficial symbol until today.
Sigma Delta Tau: I didn't know they were originally Sigma Delta Phi. I also didn't know that they were put together due to the subtle religious discrimination faced by the founding members. They yellow tea rose is a very pretty flower.
Sigma Kappa: I love the hearts flower thing in the logo. I never saw how much Tri Sigma & Sigma Kappa have in common, the Triangle magazine, the triangle badge, purple & violets until today. I really like the dove & heart symbolizing the love felt by members across the world.
Sigma Sigma Sigma: So far, I am loving my TriSigma experience. I love our sailboat symbol, sisters & so much more. I could go on & on already and I'm only a new member. I cannot wait for my love for my organization to grow even more when I get to experience initiation. I love our badge & cannot wait to order mine
Theta Phi Alpha: This is another organization that I didn't really know anything about, except the penguin, until now. I love white roses.
Zeta Tau Alpha: I love teal/turquoise. I also love how much pride the Zeta chapter at PSU puts into THON. They are always top contenders in raising the most money for THON. I love the crown & white violets as well. And of course their support of Breast Cancer Awareness & Prevention.
