She watched it unless she was a hermit. SNL -- with the original case, the Not-Ready-for-Prime-Time Players -- was a
big deal in the 70s if you were in high school, college or recently-out-of-college. You would have been culturally illiterate if you didn't watch it at least sometimes.
And now I feel old.
