It's extremely interesting and nothing offensive about it.
DAR is a predominantly white woman's organization with events that have predominantly white attendees. The relative few nonwhite members, nonwhite attendees, and the beneficiaries of the DAR philanthropy (i.e. the underprivileged children who are predominantly nonwhite) would be very well known and very noticed. Therefore, like Stacie's husband said Black folks wouldn't be able to sneak into a DAR event that requires registering and paying.
