Here we go...ROUND ONE:
Potions- They seemed very experienced in rushing. The girls were very enthusiastic and nice. The conversations were pretty basic, but most importantly I felt comfortable here, and the president explained the significance of their letters, which I thought was really cool. I left liking this one.
Defense Against the Dark Arts- I did not like this one at all. I’m very disappointed as I was expecting to like it based on what I’ve known about it before. We barely talked about the sorority, which is fine, except for that everything that I know about this sorority is just what I’ve read on the website, and nothing that the girls told me. I didn’t click with the girls very well; our conversations were kind of dull and overall I didn’t get a good feeling.
Transfiguration-These girls were enthusiastic too. Their philanthropy events sound really fun and I had a chance to talk to a few of them. Even though I was comfortable I didn’t have a lot in common with the girls and I couldn’t really see myself as being part of their sorority.
Herbology- I felt relaxed around these girls and didn’t feel like I had to keep smiling. It was definitely one of the more casual houses. I had a chance to talk to quite a bit of them and they gave really good answers to the questions I asked them. This one was one of my favorites.
Charms- This one was another favorite. I felt pretty relaxed (even though it was the last house we visited, and I was getting a headache) and the girl I was talking to seemed very different from anyone else because she was very natural and didn’t just smile the whole time. One of their philanthropy events sounds interesting and different and I definitely want to participate in it.
Care of Magical Creatures- I was paired with a girl who I knew at first, so it was very casual and relaxed, when they switched off, the next girl had really great things to say. Their philanthropy events sound like the most fun. One of the girls I talked to (the third one?) didn’t seem interested in formal recruitment and was kind of sarcastic about it, which put me off. I really don’t know how I feel about this one, I like it on one hand but I’m afraid that I’m not 100% comfortable with them.
Divination- Relaxed conversations, we talked about a wide variety of things. I don’t think I have too much in common with them but I felt comfortable enough. Their philanthropy events are cool. I really liked all of the girls I talked to but I don’t think I could fit into this house very well even though I liked it a lot.
In the end I realized that all of the girls I talked to were nice (duh), enthusiastic(duh) so I had to base my rankings on how comfortable I felt at the houses, the philanthropies, and if I could see myself hanging out with these girls. I thought really really hard and it was a tough decision. My bottom 2 were obvious and I had top 5, but we had to rank 4 of them as number 1, and the bottom 3 as 2, 3, 4.
In the end I put:
(top 4 in no particular order)
1. Care of Magical Creatures
4. Defense Against the Dark Arts-
It was really hard deciding between Care of Magical Creatures and Divination, I crossed it out and changed it many times and on the way home I kept rethinking my decisions.
PS. I'm really paranoid that my school is painfully obvious so if you think you know it, please pm me and I will delay my last few rounds a bit more.
