If you're talking about the inter/national Facebook pages, it's not going to hurt you at all, and I think will teach you a lot about Greek life during and after college. Here at GC we're all about going in prepared! I wouldn't think Liking a specific chapter page would be a problem, but I'm guessing that's not what you meant anyway. I couldn't access any I tried to look at. If you were able to Like a chapter page, just make sure you don't comment on anything that could incriminate you or anyone else.
I read a thread here recently from an advisor's point of view and she explained the RFM process in depth, and also made excellent recommendations about Facebook use.

I'd do just what she said - make your page private but your photo visible. Make sure your photo is flattering (close up, just a head shot). But if your page is private, they won't see who you Liked anyway. (right?)
And don't forget, every NPC sorority has a very good website that will provide you with a LOT of information. Most, but not all, are
www.entiresororitynamespelledout.org. (obviously this isn't a real hyperlink) Otherwise, just google it.
Good luck!
