I worked for the Meredith Corp (Better Homes & Gardens and a million other affiliates) right out of college, as a customer service agent at the end of an 800 number. I learned more about customer service than probably anything else I could have done. BUT it did also make me an annoying customer because I know what a customer service agent CAN do and I seldom give in. I think that's why I have huge issues with shopping on the other side of the planet where the answer is always Yes Mom, and then they walk away.
