Aerylle - It might be different now, but when I was involved in recruitment, COB used to be handled informally by each individual sorority chapter unless there were several sororities COB'ing and then the Panhellenic would step in and organize an 'informal" formal rush.

So each sorority looks at their roster in the spring (or some in the fall) and say, okay we need to fill x # of spots and then they'll get names from chapter members of who to invite to their COB event.

My first suggestion to you about reviving an opportunity to join a sorority as an upperclassmen is to BE ACTIVE ON CAMPUS. Find an organization and become Miss Joiner. But don't blow it off and be lacksadaisical about going to meetings, do it WELL.

Make LOTS of friends and hopefully you'll meet some of the girls in some of the houses who will COB or who can find room for upperclassmen during fall rush.

But also know that you're never locked out of a GLO.

There might be an expansion at your school and you can interview to be a colony member, or something happens and you transfer and you get an opportunity to join something at another campus. Or you can join an academic/professional GLO.

Or maybe after graduation you get an opportunity to join as an alumnae initiate.

all is not lost.
