So first day started off kinda slowly. We were told to get there at 9:00am, but nothing was to start until 10:30. So we hung around a while, chatted, got to know each other more, then started to our first house around 10:10am.
So first up, we arrived at Lorelai. I had been warned it would be loud and bouncy, but I honestly wasn't prepared for this at all! I was the first in line (and very nervous about that might I add) and no one really told me what to do once the door opened so.. I just kinda went with it, blushed a bit and smiled!
Lorelai: Once inside I was picked up by a sophomore and was taken back into the house. It was a nice house, but it wasn't very modern at all. It felt “old”, but the girls made it feel like a home. If that makes any sense. The girls were all super sweet. I was bumped maybe.. five or six times. I don't know if that's good or bad, but.. I met a lot of girls! Even though everyone was super sweet, I didn't feel like we “clicked” that well. Like, our personalities were different, as well as the sense of humor. This might be because it was the first house and everyone was so nervous.
Rory: They have the cutest house, hands down! I've loved this house since I first stepped on campus. I remember the tour with my parents saying, “Oh look! That house is so cute!” And the inside was just as cute! I. Loved. This. House! And I don't just mean the building! The girls were AMAZING. We were laughing and talking about things other than the list of questions that was normal (school, hometown, etc). I was bumped about.. four times and each time got a new amazing girl! They all seemed to be super sweet, really down to earth, and had my type of personality. I was really sad to leave and have thought about this house all day!
Sookie: This house was amazing as well (both the building and the girls)! I talked to a really sweet, down to earth girl who broke every stereotype I'd ever heard about sorority girls (not that the other houses didn't, this out just seemed to do a better job of pointing it out). I was told about study hours, GPA standings, the events they hold, going out, staying in, everything! I loved this house as well and knew it was gonna be a tough choice in who to put down first between this one and the house before it.
Logan: Well first of all, I have this chapters song stuck in my head still and I've been humming it all day. Ha ha. At first I didn't know how I felt at this house. This had more to do with the fact that I doubled up with the girl behind me when we first went in and she was more of a talker than I was, but the active did a good job of talking to me as well, which made me more comfortable. After the initial song and dance (which was super cute!) someone came over and stole me away. This girl actually was a lot like me! We talked about where we lived and the weather (silly topic, but it was more than just a “chit chat” topic for some reason) and started talking about TV shows toward the end. I mentioned that I was a discovery channel dork and she agreed. I was bumped right then and found my twin. She had the same irrational fear as me, loved the same shows as me, I loved this house!
Jess: As I mentioned before, I have a friend in this chapter, and I was hoping to see her, but sadly, I didn't. I was paired up with a girl who seemed.. well, rather fake. Something I wasn't expecting at all because the Jess I know isn't that way at all! And by fake I mean she said the same response to everything I said.. I guess the word forced would be better.. But, I wasn't really feeling this girl when I got bumped to a really nice girl who I ended up talking about Harry Potter to. I was bumped again to a girl who was a die hard Harry Potter fan and we hit it off. She made me feel better about the house. I was bumped once more and found another really sweet girl. I decided that the first girl might have been nervous or a “fluke”. I knew walking out of this house that ranking was going to be really hard..
Paris: This was the house I heard the most tent talk about and was kinda nervous going in because of everything I had heard. I was sad walking in when I found that one of the rumors held true, but I decided that I didn't care and that I was going to look at these girls the same as every other house. I'm glad I did though, because after the first girl (who I will not mention my thoughts on, as they are rather superficial, which normally I am not, but.. This was one of those hard-to-overlook type of deals..) I got three really sweet girls. I talked about pets a lot with these girls. Told one I had birds when I was younger, right before I got bumped. The next girl told me how her brother stepped on a bird (sad!). I then told her how my friend stepped on and killed a puppy (even sadder!). It was the weirdest conversation, but it was amusing (the girls, not the topic). Another reason I probably wasn't to keen on this house: I hadn't visited the little girls room all day. Lol. I don't know if I could see myself in this house, but I'd definitely give it a shot!
