Wendy, I believe that the local alumnae
are informed when Alpha Gam makes an extension presentation, especially because we all know that alumnae support is
so important to the success of a fledgling chapter. Our local alumnae were
very aware of the Chapman presentation, and the wonderful turnout we had for it, IMO, may have been a big reason why we were extended the invitation.
However, when you start telling everyone what you're doing, things have a way of getting out of hand. We can't start counting our chickens before they hatch, because a situation can change at a moment's notice. I think that IHQ is erring on the side of caution--which I think is the smart thing to do. I wouldn't want something to fall through at the last minute and then end up with egg on our face.
