You need to get in contact with a representative of your national/international organization. Every one is different, and though it sounds fishy to me, it might just be the way things are done with that particular organization. But you need to find out...I would get in contact with a friend that you know is still active and have them forward you a contact, like a regional coordinator (a different one than whoever was in charge of the judiciary process in you chapter...probably one in the area you are now in), and make an appointment. Then very carefully outline the circumstances. Right down everything that happened if you need to, and be sure not to leave anything out, good or bad.
