When you take a tone like that trying to convince someone that you're right you get absolutely nowhere.
On one hand, yes... I think it can be a good thing to have a sense of humor about yourself and the things you take seriously.
On the other hand if you reinforce negative stereotypes TOO strongly then in some people's minds you make them true. We also take our fraternal obligations VERY seriously and should be mad any time someone suggests that we do not.
Does this thread cross that line?
I don't really think so. Your audience is primarily made up of people already involved in the greek system or those that have a good knowledge about what it is really all about. Someone reading this thread (through the careful application of common sense) could probably pick up that Sigma Nu's weren't invisible on whatever campus they were on.. (in reference to the common nickname "Sigma Who?").
However bickering like this DOES show how petty we can be.
Get over yourselves and act like the representatives of your organizations that you are.
(I want ya'll to understand I'm not directing this at any one person, just the sudden drama that seems to have sprung up in this thread)
