I didn't go to DePauw, but a very good friend of mine did her freshman year (then she transferred). I remember her saying that greek life was
all there was to do in the small town, and that the average % of greek students was about 80% of the entire student body.
I know she lived in a dorm her freshman year, and was going to be sharing an on-campus house with friends her sophomore year (before deciding to transfer), but she never said the greek system was big due to housing issues.
It's just huge there and always has been I guess
