One proud moment for me was the night I crossed which is April 29, 2002. It took me 5 years to get to that night. I cried like a baby. I think I cried for over an hour. To hear professors that taught me in classes on campus call me soror. To hear women that I have only before Delta seen on TV and read about in the newspapers in Saginaw introduce me as their soror, I still tear up.
Another very pround moment was graduation day on May 11, 2002. It took me 9 years to get to that day. I had on my DST kinte on over my gown (even though it wasn't allowed by the university, I dared anybody from administration to tell me to take it off) and when the president of the university called my name to recieve my degree, I heard the loudest OOOOOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOP in that gym!!! I looked up and I saw sorors from all over in the audience cheering and clapping. I was the only one from my line to graduate this year and at the graduation there were also 2 alumnae sorors receiving their master's degrees. During the recessional, in the midst of all the clapping and cheering by families and friends, I could still hear the calls all over the gym and it made me so proud that my sisters (some I didn't know) came out to see me and my sorors graduate. I am so honored, so blessed to be a part of this sisterhood.
