I agree with that sentiment Ex-greek, but why does it have to be either/or? I mean, I'm sure that a lot of athletes in "big " conferences love the game also, and play not because they are looking to go pro, but maybe because they want to play with and agsinst the best competition around. That's why the NCAA basketball tournament is so much fun...you have schools like Maryland and Duke and Kansas, but you also have your Gonzagas and Richmonds and Sienas-and some of those these guys DO get noticed (John Stockton and Casey Calvary and others). And not just in basketball either. I mean, didn't Jay Fiedler of the Miami Dolphins go to Dartmouth? That's hardly a football "powerhouse". I personally love watching WCC basketball on TV here in the Bay Area-I actually go to a few USF games.
