Hi sorors,
I have had so many moments that just make me sit back and think about how wonderful it is to be a member of our illustrious sorority.
One thing that I can say is when my linesister's and I first returned to school in Fall 2001, we had a calender full of at least two events a week. We were the only Deltas left on campus, all of my big sisters graduated. We hadn't seen an example of how our chapter should be run. The only thing we had to go by was what was told to us (but we could call on our big sisters anytime we needed them). At our second sorority meeting, our advisor stood up and told us how proud she was of us. She said we had her worried because sometimes we waited until the last minute to get thing straight, but everytime she thought we weren't going to pull an event off, we proved her wrong. She said she was so proud of us. When she said that, we all looked at each other and started getting teary-eyed because we realized that in the end Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. was worth it and it is and will continue to be a "lifetime commitment."
When we were doing our Adopt-A-Street clean-up, a gentleman from the neighborhood was driving past and he stopped and thanked us so much for cleaning up the street. He have us a $100 donation. That made us feel good and let us know that even the little things make a difference.
Being with my linesisters and now my neo's also have a deep impact on me.
