1. April 5, 1997 when I became a Delta. It was an emotional journey that semester overall with the death of my father, working on my senior thesis and having to work with my line sisters (ASAT) but when the journey or that phase of the Delta journey was complete, I exhaled.

2. Attending my first National Convention and meeting so many sorors and just seeing all of that WHITE in Nawlins and the waves and waves of Crimson and Cream.

3. @ National Convention, meeting so many Delta Dears and talking with them about Delta and just them as Black women.

4. Meeting Past National President Soror Marcia Fudge (y'all I love her). Let me explain, Soror lives in the suburb I grew up in and she became the FIRST BLACK MAYOR, FIRST WOMAN MAYOR and FIRST BLACK WOMAN MAYOR all in one election. She also signed my membership certificate.

5. When GC SFs cross the threshold into DELTALAND. I cried when SOROR MeezDiscreet became a SOROR.

6. Meeting notable sorors, i.e. Ruby Dee. It was before I became a Delta but that's all right.

7. Embracing my former teachers who are sorors.

8. Reading about the accomplishments of sorors everywhere. Reading books by sorors, writing them and them writing me back.

9. Finally my friendship with Kelli. I never tell her just how much she means to me but y'all I really value our bond. We met on a listserve in 99 and had many convos on AOL IM and e-mail and then phone. We were roomies in Chi in 2000 and we clowned. Then in November of 2000 when my house was broken into and the theiving mickyfrickies stole my stuff including my SORORITY PINS INCLUDING the big two, Kelli replaced the SORORITY PIN for me and I remember thinking dang no one else even offered but she just did it. She has done numerous other things outside of that, like buying me some books, artwork, a Curious George book, etc. but she has also taught me more about Delta and helped my love for Delta grow.
