Why was I misty-eyed at the end of the show?

Because I loved the show. It was such a great time in television history. The show was important in my socialization and my life.

I truly enjoyed the Cosby Show Reunion.

Here are my comments:

1. I do think that "Russell and Anna" are a couple in real life. They appeared rather comfortable. They were in each others arms like an old married couple. Or, they are just really close friends...which is possible among that age set. The grandfather did age...life progresses in ten years...and with it...the challenges of getting older.

2. I was clapping in my apartment when they showed Peter. I was waiting for that (as you may remember from a previous posting..Peter is my favorite non-Cosby kid). I was also elated to see Deon Richmond (bka "Kenny").

3. Keshia looked wonderful. She looked so poised. You can definitely tell that she went to Spelman. She had such confidence and was humble in everything that she said. Her maturity just struck me.

4. I was displeased with Tempestt Bledsoe (bka "Vanessa") and her referring to Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad as "Bill and Phylicia". Maybe it is just me, but I think that it showed a little disrespect for her elders. Even Phylicia called Bill Cosby "Mr. Cosby".

5. Theo has matured. He's definitely looking "man-ly". It would have been nice to see Cockroach. Although we saw him, Carl Payne for many years, it would have been nice to see him outside of the bufoonish character he played on Martin. I would have liked to see his "real" side.

6. My heart was leaping when Bill Cosby presented Phylicia Rashad with the two dozen yellow roses. ...and that he made mention of her importance on the show as his "catcher" and the more serious actress, which she was. At that point of the show, I was really feeling for Phylicia Rashad. She has been through so much, and continue to lift her head amidst the tide. Her on-screen and off screen personas are the epitome` of Black womanhood.

7. Why was I having a hard time with Raven Symone`? I felt like she wasn't a "real" Cosby kid..but more of a visitor. Maybe it was just me.

8. I overall enjoyed the reunion. It was the best time in television history....a time not to be forgotten. The show itself won numerous awards. Including Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series (84-85) as well as awards for writting and directing. Its biggest award the hearts of millions whose ideas were changed as a result of the show.
