having crossed exactly a month ago, i haven't had a whole lot of experiences as a member but i will tell you something that happened that was so beautiful...
the day following our coming out show, me and two of my line sisters went to eat breakfast at denny's (at 6 p.m. mind you--we had only been awake for 3 hours because we k-i-c-k-e-d it!

). one of my line sisters was wearing the straw hat with our beloved letters on the hat scarf when she passed a table with an elderly woman and her daughter when she went to the restroom. i heard the daughter tell her mother, "there is one of your sorors." *as an interjection: i love the word SOROR*
we hadn't been told the proper way to greet a soror yet, but when my line sister returned, me, her and my roommate, who is also my line sister, just went up to the table and blurted out "we're DELTAS TOO!" we told her that we had just crossed and we hugged her. she told us that she pledged in, if my memory serves me correctly, sometime in the 40's. then she said "welcome to the sisterhood." i got teary-eyed and almost cried right there in the middle of denny's!
what was funny is that she then pointed at her daughter and said "she went the other way. she's an a.k.a., but i still lover her."
as we were leaving, her daughter whispered to us that she was so glad that we came over to the table to speak to her mother. that is one of those experiences that may seem simple to some but i will never forget it
